According to Karley...floors are better.

We are still working on sleeping in the new, "big girl bed" with Karley.  She hasn't slept in her crib in a week now.  She one has to be told about a billion times to get back in her bed.  And I only have to put her clothes back on her about 3 times a night now, so we are making progress.  She roams the halls till about 10ish and then will finally go into her room, shut her door, and fall asleep.  She's been sick this week so she did end up in bed with Mommy and Daddy twice, but last night she made it the whole night without waking up.  Or so I thought.  She did get up sometime during the night because she made a bed on the floor.  I guess the floor was just better last night.

A first for three....

Sunday afternoon I had the chance to do something that I never though would happen.  I took my dad and brother hunting.  My dad and brother have always been avid hunters who wanted to get a "monster" Ohio buck, but haven't been able to find a place to hunt.  I did just that for them.  I haven't hunted since I was 13 so I was a bit nervous, but anxious to spend some time with my dad (and brother).

We headed down on Sunday afternoon for our first evening of hunting.  My dad and I were at one field and my brother was placed in another stand on the other hillside.  I was pretty excited when I had two doe standing about 20 yards from me.  I did take a shot at the smaller one, but missed.  I will never live this down, but atleast I took a shot.  The following morning we went out again with no luck, until the evening.  With in minutes of each other my Dad and brother had each killed their first.  My dad shot a doe and Charlie had his first Ohio buck, an 8 point.

So we all have out first that weekend.  My dad and brother their first Ohio kill and me, my first miss.  I will get my first kill shot another time.  ;)  That you can count on.

The Sunrise in Piketon, OH

You can see the blind where my I sat with my dad.  20 yards in front of us is a corn pile where the deer come in to eat.  It is just at the edge of the weeds.

Cweam

Jose and I were in the kitchen cooking and Karley asked where Cameron was.  Jose told her he was in his room, so up the stairs she went.  It was very quiet in the house, but we figured she just went to Cameron's room to watch a movie while he played video games, as she often does.  I should have known better.  When I went up the stairs the above video is what I found.  Karley was putting her "cweam" on.   Yes, I love my daughter very much.

18 months

My oh my!!  We sure have a little monkey on our hands these days.  Karley has mastered her walking and is starting to pick up the pace this past month.  She is now climbing onto all of the furniture.  She can be found many times in the middle of the kitchen table dancing.  (No comments, Gimmy!)  If we push the kitchen chairs in she will still use those muscles to get herself up.

She's very slowly working on her words.  But for the most part it's still gibberish.  She does love to babble tho.  That part she does get from her daddy!  She has also picked up something else from her daddy.  Her muscles!  She likes to show them off, too.  She cracks us up when she does it, simply because she uses sound when she does it.  Hopefully, we will be able to capture it on video soon.

Excellence Awards

Bub had asked us to come to his award ceremony.  A letter was sent home telling the students and parents that they would be receiving an award.  Bub thought that he was just getting one award, but to his surprise, he received two!  He received Excellence Awards in Science and Social Studies.  We are very proud of his achievements!!  Congrats Bub!!

P.S.  I would have pictures, but my luck....my camera battery died just when we went to snap the photo.
